There is an easy way to create the effect, the process of duotone.

Duotone means two colours, from the word duo. Sometimes this is used for rendering monochromatic printing. It is done by adding the black and white images with a color tint. Black ink and gray ink are used to smooth out or assign various colors to similar pieces, and to increase the tonal range from lightest to darkest.

Duotone also includes monotone, quadton and tritone. Monotone refers to images which have only one color, from the word mono. The images of Tritone are those which use three colours. Images containing four colors are called quadtones. The Overprint Colors button is mainly used by Tritone and quadton pictures. That will allow you to monitor your ink interaction.

To access Duotone, go to Image, then Mode, and choose Duotone. If you're using RGB or CMYK, first you'll have your workspace set to grayscale. To do so, choose Image, go to Mode, and select Grayscale.

Next, choose the Image, then Mode, then Duotone. A dialog box pops up. This is where you have to pick the colors that you want.

Clicking on the color swatch will open the Color Picker. Then, press the Custom button. A pop-up menu is set to open. Select the ink type, and select the color.

If you wish to change your work, simply reopen the Duotone dialog box. To do so, go to Picture, select Mode, then select Duotone.

The most commonly used variation of duotons includes black and yellow , black and medium-blue , black and cyan and black and brown.

Duotone is also used to richer the black and white images. Seek comparing pictures of the grayscale and duotone. You'll note the change in colour. Photoshop not only adds color to the accent; it also changes the hue of all pixels.

You will note, when you go through the information, that there is only one screen, even if you use two colours. This is so because Duotone curve is used by Photoshop. To access Curve, go to Picture, select Mode, select Duotone. To the left of the color swatch is the Duotone Curve button. Click the Ink box you want to delete.

To change the color using Photoshop's Curve Correction, simply select Picture > Modify > Curves. The tonal value can now be modified by clicking and dragging on the line or by entering numbers on the screen.

Do not restrict your mix to black and grayScience papers, use any two colors.
