The impressionistic art refers to those influenced by the European Impressionist painting style and philosophy of the 19th century. Impressionist works in history usually do not emphasize the narrative and political meaning of works whose materials are the popular scene and never conform too rigidly to strict physical type and integrity characteristics. We focus on the instant light color shifts and reciprocal effect on the color of the world and seek the harmony and mood of the overall painting colours. 1865-1890 is the golden age of Impressionism. While the Impressionist paintings' main artists have different features and rich variations and differences in technique and design, they have some similar features that attempt to confront objects rather than imaginative fiction in the concept and process and emphasize diligent color interpretation and overall color tone regulation. Nabis painters Vial and Bonnard are relative close to impressionist painters in the output of techniques. But their colors are stronger than the actual, and pay more attention to the painting color composition as well. Impressionist painting has a great influence on the various later painting schools , especially in the performance of colours. The style of impressionist painting is still an important influence in modern oil painting, as one of the main painting types.

The impressionist style of painting development essentially adopts direct drawing, usually with white canvas to allow color have the strongest context but also a visual color screen and using cream or light gray canvas foundation. The texture of the canvas should not necessarily be too thin, and can cause the loose pigment layer in the color relation. It also allows for dry brushwork. In addition to a few painters such as Renoir and Lody Leek using thin coating methods, most traditional Impressionist painters use thick coating and coloring methods in combination with different fine brushwork and color and opaque and translucent pigment, and create contrast colors and fibrillation effects by staggered overlapping or combination methods. While the conceptual distinction between Post Impressionism and Impressionist painters is important, there is no fundamental difference in the materials and techniques, only with a greater focus on subjective color. The modern Impressionist painters distinguish the colors according to the continuum concept but without the basic colors of the spectrum and the color point of the paint. But in the strict sense it's often called pointillist. Yet the stipple pens of various painters always have the obvious difference, including the independence and comfort of Monet, the elegance of Pissarro, the boldness of Van Gogh and the rigidity of Seurat.
